Omid Abbasi

Omid Abbasi, 38 years old, was shot and killed by two live rounds fired by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic during protests in Tehran on Friday, January 9, 2026. Government agents murdered Omid Abbasi in the Nazi Abad district of Tehran. Omid was single, the only child in his family, and lived with his mother. He, who had lost his father years prior, owned a cafe in Nazi Abad. His body was interred in Behesht-e Zahra, Tehran, after identification.
