Maedeh Moradikia, 22 years old and a newlywed, was shot dead by government-affiliated forces just one week after her marriage on January 8, 2026, in Tehran (1). Her family received her body after 10 days, upon payment and a commitment not to hold a public ceremony (2). According to the death certificate issued by the forensic medicine department of Sari, the cause of her death was reported as 'rupture of abdominal organs and fracture of the lumbar spine' due to 'impact from a hard object at high speed,' which clearly indicates a gunshot wound inflicted by government agents (1).
