Mostafa Khorsandian

Mostafa Khorsandian, 25 years old, was shot by armed agents of the Islamic Republic during the protests in Rudbar, Gilan province, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, and died. Mostafa resided in Rasht and was originally from Rudbar; he had returned to his hometown for the protests. Mostafa was shot and injured in front of Rudbar Police Station 11. He was taken to Vali-e Asr Hospital in Rudbar but succumbed to his severe bleeding. Mostafa's friends broke the morgue windows at the hospital, removed his body, and transported it to his family's village. Mostafa's body was buried in the early morning of January 9, 2026, in the dark and still dressed in his clothes, due to fears of agents seizing the body. Mostafa's mother pleaded with his friends to remove his jacket and sneakers before the burial. Mostafa was a mechanic and lived in Rasht.
