Babak Soltani

Babak Soltani, 57 years old, was killed by a bullet fired by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic on Thursday, January 8, 2026, during the protests in Isfahan. Babak Soltani opened his home on Khaghani Street to young protesters so they could take refuge there, but government agents shot him in the head, killing him. Babak Soltani's body was not handed over to his family for a week and was eventually released to them only after they provided an undertaking to prevent gatherings during the burial. The funeral ceremony for Babak Soltani was held on January 16, 2026, from the purification hall of Bagh-e Rezvan in Isfahan to plot 57, where he was laid to rest.
