Mehdi Rahimi

Mehdi Rahimi, 32 years old, was killed on Friday, January 9, 2026, during protests in Dezful, having been struck by three bullets fired by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic. A fitness instructor, he was fatally shot in the head, side, and leg by suppression agents on Qazi Street in Dezful. Government agents targeted Mehdi from a semi-finished building on the same street. Mehdi Rahimi's body was handed over to his family two days later, with agents attempting to force his burial in a cemetery outside Dezful. Ultimately, in the early hours of Monday, January 12, his body was interred in a cemetery in Andimeshk. Mehdi held a degree in accounting and dedicated his full time to working as an instructor at a gym. The news of Mehdi's death led to his uncle suffering a heart attack. During these protests, Mehdi's family also lost two other members to bullets fired by the Islamic Republic's suppression agents.
