Amir Hossein Amiri Vafa

According to a report by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Amirhossein Amiri Vafa, a 29-year-old Kurdish citizen from Mashhad, was shot in the throat with a live bullet by government suppression forces and killed on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, during popular protests in front of the Haft-e Tir police station in that city. His body was handed over to his family on Saturday, January 10, 2026, and was buried in Behesht-e Rezvan cemetery in Mashhad. He was employed as a welder.
